Modern Art from the 19th – 21st Century in Prague

The permanent exhibition of 20th and 21st century art at the Veletržní Palác shows visitors the development of Czech and foreign fine art during the last two centuries. Many French and leading Czech impressionist work are on display. Many obscure artists who have been neglected over the centuries are featured in the exhibition as well. A good exhibition of master works in Prague.

Karel Zeman Museum “The Walt Disney of Prague”

Zeman Kids 200x300 - Karel Zeman Museum "The Walt Disney of Prague"Karel Zeman born in 1910 and died in 1989 is a world renowned Czech director and cinematographer know for his groundbreaking discoveries in animation techniques that later developed the aesthetic used by film directors all over the world. He is best known films are “Baron Prasil”,  and “Trip to Prehistoric”.  His films have influenced many American and UK directors including Terry Gilham and Tim Burton. The Karel Zeman museum in Prague is a retrospective of his films and techniques with great activities for the family and kids. You can ride props used in his films and even be part of the film illusions yourself. There is a collection of costumes used in his film on display. It is located near the Charles bridge so it is a great place to stop with the kids to experience some Czech Disney fun. You can purchase his DVDs and many other items by Karel Zeman in the gift shop.
